How to raise $1,500 in 15 days
1.
• Start by sponsoring yourself = $25.
• Send out at least 50 emails to friends and family (ask for a minimum donation of $26) = $650. (As a general rule, count on 50% or 25 people responding to the email)
2.
• Follow up on your fundraising emails.
• Ask three additional family members (minimum donation of $26 each) = $78.
• Ask five friends to sponsor you (minimum donation of $26 each) = $130.
• Ask two co-workers to sponsor you (minimum of $26 each) = $52.
• Check with your company's human resource department to see if they offer matching gifts.
3.
• Ask three additional co-workers to sponsor you (minimum donation of $26 each) = $78.
• Plan a spaghetti dinner at your home or church with at least 25 people ($10 per person) = $250. This one really works…get your support team to help you do this.
4.
• Ask five neighbors to sponsor you (minimum donation of $15 each) = $75
5.
• Ask your boss for a company contribution = $50
6.
• Ask three businesses you frequent for a donation (e.g. doctor, dentist, dry cleaners, restaurant etc., $37 each) = $111
Grand Total $1500
Fundraising is even easier now with online fundraising. When you register for the Mansion 5K at www.mansionevents.org, you will be able to use our “send letters” email tool. This feature allows you to personalize and share an email about your desire to support the children of Tupelo Children’s Mansion. You can encourage your family and friends in your personal contact list to visit the website, see what you are doing for the Mansion and donate immediately. It’s really that simple. You will have lots of fun and make a difference in a child’s life all at the same time!
PS: Start a support team…you will be surprised at how easy it is to get people on board for this special event. Sometimes people may not want to or be able to run in the Mansion 5K but that doesn’t mean they won’t get out and help enlist sponsors for you. It could be as simple as a friend forwarding your Mansion 5K email to all of their email contacts. Look around, you have people just waiting for the opportunity to help!
